About

Sheri Waldrop is a painter of nature most recognized for her use of color and incorporating light into her acrylic paintings. Born and raised in the piedmont area of Virginia, she has been drawing and painting all of her life. She has been showing her art in galleries and shows since 2021.
Her inspiration comes from hiking through the woods and marshes near the shores of Lake Huron in northeast Michigan, where she currently lives. Her passion is to depict the amazing range of colors and soft, subtle nuances of light seen in water reflections, plants and the wildlife she frequently encounters in this rich and diverse – and still relatively untouched -environment. Sheri’s message is to share this beauty with others through her art.
“I want people to understand how important it is to preserve this type of habitat, which supports so many plants and animals, by helping them fall in love with it through my paintings, which brings nature into the home - and offers a haven from today's technologically driven lifestyle.”
Sheri has won several art awards in shows she has entered. Her paintings can be seen at several galleries throughout Michigan and Kansas, including Blue Heron Gallery (Elk Rapids, MI), Freshwater Gallery (Boyne City, MI), and Prairie Hills Gallery (Lawrence, KS). She is committed to providing green spaces and habitat for wildlife, and served as the Artist-in-Residence Coordinator for the Alpena Wildlife Sanctuary River Center. 5% of all sales are donated to the Audubon Society.
